As Aida grapples to discover her true identity, she seeks out cultural heroes along the way, taking solace first in the astonishing work of Sarajevo artist Šejla Kamerić, before later receiving one of Enki Bilal’s extraordinary graphic novels as a gift.

Using these and other compatriots as her guide, Aida seeks to find her way into her labyrinthine heritage.
